Sakabukuro

These are the 50~60 years old bags used for the making process of Sake,Japanese rice wine, to squeeze it from fermented rices. The brown colour is derived from Persimmon (Fruits we call 'Kaki') tannin. The tannin, being painted on the surface of those heavy cotton fabric , is very effective to improve the transparancy and clearness of Sake. Every bag has differnt colour shade which are completely natural origin. You can make bags, purses, etc from those fabrics.

All stitches are given by hand, and some of them are loosen and coming apart, please note that for your project.
